Ramadan Bayram

is among the biggest holidays in Islam. The holiday is celebrated for three whole days, during which Muslims eat mostly sweet food. Ramadan Bayram is a day that ends the month-long Muslim fasting, also known as fasting. For a month, called the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world fast, which means they do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. After the evening prayer, which is performed at sunset, Muslims begin to eat - they make iftar. It is allowed to eat from sunset to sunrise¸ then fast again, and so every day until the end of the month.

According to history, the holy god for Muslims, Allah,

he checks who is faithful to him and who is ready for deprivation for his sake precisely through the month of Ramadan - the month of fasting. The Muslim deprives himself of water and food in the name of Allah. And Ramadan Bayram itself is a kind of reward for all these deprivations. On the day itself, it is forbidden to fast, people prepare a variety of food and especially sweets. Religion commands in this month every believer to pray more, to do more zakat, i.e. to help and donate to those in need, to read the holy book - Koran, and of course to say more "kind" words.

Another interesting custom

for Muslims in the month of Ramadan is the Teravih prayer. Every evening after eating, both men and women go to the holy Muslim shrine, the mosque, where they perform the Terawih prayer in the name of Allah. Of all these evenings of prayer, one is more special. It is the night of Qadr, a night in which all the mosques around the world are filled, a night in which Muslims do not stop offering prayers, a night in which it is believed that if you become a part of it, you earn goodness for the whole next year .
When the three-day holiday begins, on the first day of the morning, men go to the cemeteries to honor the memory of their loved ones. The rest of the day is dedicated to the family, when everyone gathers around the table. Typical foods for the table on this day are baklava¸banitsa and the so-called tatlii.

As you may have noticed, this holiday is largely associated with sweets, which is why it is also called "Sheker Bayram". For a whole month, people do not eat or drink for more than 12 hours, but at the end they are allowed to indulge in a lot of sweets. Ramadan Bayram is the holiday that measures will, desire and above all faith. Ramadan Bayram is the holiday where your deprivations bring you much more rewards. Muslim magic really comes alive at this time of year. Group prayers, good works, fasting and all the other smaller customs are more than impressive. Perhaps the message of this Muslim holiday is that if you have a strong will, you can achieve anything, and hard work and effort are always rewarded.
