If you only have one day, but want to immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of this part of Bulgaria, the route Bratsigovo – Rozovski vriz – Ravnogor is one of the most suitable choices. It combines history, nature and an authentic atmosphere, and at the end you will find one of the most impressive views in the Rhodope Mountains - Back rocks.
First stop: Bratsigovo – the city of craftsmen
Bratsigovo is a small but extremely charming town, tucked away in the foothills of the Rhodope Mountains. It is famous for its architectural school, which gave life to some of the most impressive Renaissance houses in Bulgaria. Take a walk around the central part and you will see the typical two-story stone-and-wooden houses that preserve the spirit of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Don't miss Historical Museum – a small but rich exhibition that tells about the participation of Bratsig residents in the April Uprising. Nearby is also Vasil Petleshkov's house-museum, a local leader and hero since 1876. If you love views, climb to The clock tower, a symbol of the city, or take the the eco-trail to Mount St. Elijah, from where a wonderful panorama opens up towards Bratsigovo and the surrounding hills.

Second stop: Rozovski vriz – the coolness of the mountain
From Bratsigovo the road winds up through dense pine forests and after about 20 km reaches the area Pink Vries – a small resort village, which in the summer becomes a real refuge from the heat. It is located at an altitude of about 1200 m and is famous for the clean air, the cold springs and the tranquility, which prevails even during the tourist season.
The place is ideal for a short walk and a picnic. In the center there is a small pond around which tables and gazebos can be rented. For nature lovers there are several the easy hiking route in the area, also suitable for families with children. In spring and early summer, the meadows around Rozovski Vriz are covered with wildflowers - an ideal place for photos and relaxation.

Third stop: Ravnogor – the village above the clouds
Your next stop is Ravnogor, one of the highest villages in Bulgaria (about 1340 m). It is known for your fresh air, which is why some call it the "San Marino of the Rhodopes". The village is picturesque, with neat houses, colorful courtyards and hospitable people. In the center you will find several small taverns and shops where you can try local cheeses and homemade honey.
Ravnogor is also the starting point for one of the most beautiful natural views in the region - Back rocksThey are reached by a well-marked trail (about a 40-minute walk). The terrain is easy, but the climb at the end can be a bit steep.

When you reach the top of the cliffs, you will see majestic panorama of the Vacha River valley, the dams and the green hills of the Rhodope Mountains. On a clear day, the horizon opens up to Rila and the Balkan Mountains. The place is also suitable for a picnic, but it is important to be careful - the rocks are high and without safety fences.
A little adventure, a lot of memories
The route Bratsigovo – Rozovski vriz – Ravnogor – Bekovi skali It is suitable for a day trip, but will make you come back again. It offers a little bit of everything – history, coolness, hospitality and unique views.
The journey is relatively easy, accessible by car, and the roads – although mountainous – are in good condition. If you leave early in the morning, you will easily have time for walks, rest, and photos.
At the end of the day, when you watch the sunset from Bekovi Skali, you will realize that the Rhodope Mountains are not just a mountain – they are an experience that makes you come back again and again.
