Religious places and temples in Bulgaria
The official religion in Bulgaria is Eastern Orthodox Christianity and has hundreds, perhaps even thousands of extremely beautiful religious temples. If you are fascinated by the ancient ruins of religious temples, you will love Bulgaria. We have very well preserved temples coming from ancient times and if we say that they are charming, it will be small. Places like these bring you back back in time and they amaze you when you see what people's faith has made them build. The architecture of many temples is also quite striking.

In our small country we have newer ones religious places and temples and they are also incredibly beautiful. The most striking example of this is the cathedral Alexander Nevsky. This massive and extremely beautiful cathedral is located in the central part of the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia and is considered to be in the top 50 of the largest cathedrals in the world. This is a basilica with a cross dome, the central dome is gilded and works of art inside the church they will leave you breathless.
And although the official religion is Christianity, Bulgaria is famous for its ethnic tolerance and multiculture. So you will also be able to see some amazing mosques and synagogues; in other words, if religious temples fascinate you, you better take a month off so you can explore the religious architectural treasures in Bulgaria.
