In our column "Feel Bulgaria with..." we introduce you to inspiring travelers and bloggers who have impressed us with photos and stories told on social networks. Today we introduce you to Zvezdelina Zhekova - an extremely radiant and beautiful young lady whom we follow on Instagram. Here is what Zvezdelina shared about herself to our audience...

My name is Zvezdelina and I define myself as a child of the world. I don't really have any talents other than being terribly curious, but it's this quality that has led me to some of the most beautiful sights and memorable experiences I've had. I say yes to everything new that is unknown to me, because this is the journey that takes me one step closer to knowing myself. I believe that every corner has its own story that is worth telling. She lurks around the corner to turn us into storytellers.

So, let's see where virtual Zvezdi will take us and what tips it will give us about traveling and life as a traveler…

The black rock of Borovets

Not far from Borovets, wrapped in the arms of Rila pines, there is a rock that hides one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the mountain. The black rock rises above the valley of the Golyama Slivnitsa river and is doomed to bear its sad history. Many people were thrown into the abyss after 9️⃣ September 1944 without trial and sentence and were killed. They have a cross and a memorial plaque erected in their memory.✝️ I admit that I went mainly for the view, but I chose bad weather when the mountain was shrouded in thick fog. 🌫️It seemed as if we had reached the end of the world: you reach the railing and you can't see anything further than the palm of your hand. And I couldn't imagine a better time than to visit her.

Stars and iconic Sofia places...

One of the most emblematic places in Sofia it will always be the "Ivan Vazov" National Theater with the garden... A garden that is always full of people, laughter and local chess players. ♟️ Something is always happening there: people are scurrying; there are street musicians who get celebrities to stop by them 🎷 (like Andy Garcia); various activities are organized, such as the German Christmas Market 🎄 and the Disney event with projections on the building itself... the list is long. But can you imagine that there used to be a small wooden building in its place? Only two fires later, the National Theater acquired the appearance we all know it by today. 🎭

About chasing waterfalls…

In addition to chasing panoramic views, I also like to chase waterfalls (it turns out that I am a big stalker). 😬Honest word - so far, whoever I've taken to a waterfall has always complained to me that he was dry and couldn't see it. I'm so good. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The trail to Borov Kamak waterfall turned out to be one of the most exciting and attractive eco trails I've ever been on. 🌿 Along the Leva River it was not mud, slips and steep climbs. But at least I was able to do a combined training for arms and legs, only 3 days later I had muscle fever. 💪🏼No kidding.

What awaits you at the end of the trail, however, is worth every single effort multiplied by 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. Besides the beauty of one of the highest waterfalls in our country, you can climb above it for a panoramic view of the village of Zgorigrad. 🏞

Well, in two words, people were right when they said that after the hardest climb comes the most beautiful view.🤍

Stars and the conquest of the hills

📌This year, I promised myself that every time I visit Plovdiv, I will climb a hill. I have "conquered" Nebet tepe and the Hill of the Liberators (Alyosha), and since last week also Sahat tepe (or translated "Clock Hill" because of the tower on its top. 🗼 From Antiquity to the present day, the clock tower measures the time for the people who choose to meet under the open sky. 🌌According to legends, a tall temple in honor of Venus was built here in the past. However, the Clock Tower was later used as a fire lookout post in the period between the two world wars.

Today, the clock has no face, but the time is measured every round hour, ringing everything around with its honeyed chime. 🕰That way you will know that you are not late for your meeting under the Plovdiv sky.
