Located in central southern Bulgaria, Haskovo is the 12th largest city in Bulgaria. The city is of great importance for the whole of Europe, because it is from here that the fastest and most direct road passes, which ensures the connection of Europe with Asia and the Middle East. One of the most impressive Thracian tombs - the Alexander Tomb is located in Haskovo. The story goes that the tomb belonged to a Thracian king or noble aristocrat. The tomb impresses with its unique frescoes. The replica of the tomb reads "Thracian Art in the Eastern Rhodopes" and is on display in the museum center.

The "Holy Virgin" statue rising above the city is another emblem of Haskovo. The monument was erected in honor of the Holy Virgin and Child, considered the patroness of the city. The sculpture represents a chapel from the inside. Haskovo enters the "Religion" section of the Guinness Book, thanks to this statue, which is the tallest of all dedicated to the Virgin and Child. The unique location gives visibility to the statue from every part of the city, even at night.

And nearby there is another object that has made Haskovo famous beyond the borders of Bulgaria - a 30-meter bell tower, which is the tallest in the Balkans. It offers a panoramic view over the entire city. Visiting both places is free and quite easily accessible. Many locals take a walk to these places during the hot summer days. The places rise to the height of the Youth Hill, which makes them ideal for a breath of fresh air.

Every year, events are held that keep the culture of Haskovo alive. Every year in the month of May, the city gathers all supporters of folk art. The festival "Kitna Thrace sings and dances". About 200 folk groups and individual performers from Bulgaria and abroad take part in the event.
