Batkun Monastery "Saints Peter and Paul"

A few kilometers southwest of Pazardzhik, at the foot of the Rhodope Mountains near the village of Patalenitsa, is the Batkun Monastery "St. Peter and Paul". The place brings a sense of tranquility and deep spirituality, and its history is connected with centuries of trials and rise. According to researchers, there was a Christian temple here in the Middle Ages, which in the 12th century grew into a monastery. Centuries of upheavals did not pass it by - the monastery was destroyed more than once, but always rebuilt by the local people, who keep it as a symbol of faith.
