About 50 km from the capital, the town whose name literally means "straight path" - Pravets - is spreading. The small area and small population here are not determinative of the things that can be seen and the vacation that is worth tidying up. Located in the Pravesh valley, Pravets fascinates with its pleasant climate and equally pleasant nature.
The urban one museum is a common home of different world cultures. Here you can find items from a variety of countries that reflect the similarities and differences between individual nations. Only here you can view the gifts received by Todor Zhivkov as a sign of appreciation, gratitude or on other occasions during the rise of his rule. Speaking of Todor Zhivkov, Pravets is the leader's hometown and you can also visit his birthplace. In honor of the cult personality, a monument is being erected in the city.
Of particular interest to tourists in the area is the Pravesh Monastery "St. Theodore Tiron”. Once destroyed, the monastery was rebuilt and today consists of three buildings. The church was built only of bricks and stones, no wood was used. In the yard you will find fountains from which you can pour yourself clear water. The image of "St. Great Martyr Theodore Tiron” is displayed on an icon in the courtyard. The destination, with its easily passable eco-path, is an excellent choice for a walk outside the city limits.
We can't help but mention one of the most emblematic places not only in Pravets, but also in the whole country, namely Pravets Golf Club. It is a golf academy built according to the highest technological standards. The championship golf course, designed by Peter Harradine, features 18 holes. The atmosphere here is of another kind of dimension – the park-style golf course surrounds the prestigious hotel of the same name, in a package with amazing mountain and lake views. The lighting is at such a level that it is quite suitable to practice the sport even in the late part of the day. The hotel's restaurant offers a view of the course while you eat some of the best specialties ever. Another interesting fact is that quite a few official golf tournaments, including European ones, have been held here. This part of Pravets surpasses even the Western European model for tourism, sport, attraction. Every minute of time spent and every leva spent here are justified!
