Here is what Maria herself says about herself:

For me, photography is the way to present the world through your own eyes. Travel is life in its full sense. The biggest reward of sharing is the good emotions and inspiration you bring to people.

Here are the 5 great and little known locations that we will visit virtually thanks to the beautiful photos and useful information from Maria…

Петрич Кале
Petrich Kale

№ 1

Petrich Kale - Separate

📍 It is located above the village of Razdelna, 35 km from Varna and 79 km from Shumen.
🚗 Google leads correctly to the fortress. The cars stop at a large lawn where there is enough space for free parking.
From here you can follow the sign straight, which leads to a steep path through the bushes and in 20 minutes you are at the fortress.
The second option is to choose the sign on the right - this time it is an idea more sloping, but it takes twice as long to climb. You will also have to go through an electric shepherd - if you do not know how to turn off, go boldly under it.
⏳ Take at least 20 minutes to explore the fortress from above, as the view and the stairs are amazing. From here you can see a turquoise salt shaker in the distance.

№ 2

Church of the Forty Martyrs

📍 It is located at the foot of Tsarevets and you can walk to it. Here you will see a basilica with 6 columns, an ossuary, a mausoleum and 2 galleries. In the church are some of the most important old Bulgarian monuments - Omurtag's and Assen's column. Tsar Kaloyan, queens Anna Maria, Irina and many other members of the royal family are also buried.
⏳ You need 20 minutes to go around.
🎟️ There is an entrance fee. In memory, it was about BGN 6 per adult.

№ 3

The stone houses near Karlukovo

The stone houses near Karlukovo are a relatively unknown place. The setting takes you directly to the movie The Hobbit. 🧝

One house has a natural green roof reaching to the ground. At the entrance, they welcome animals made of wood, a book of praise and a comfortable wooden table to sit on, describing your admiration for the place. 📖
There is also a winter garden at the back of this house.
In the yard there are two more stone houses, a swimming pool and a mini garden with real fruits and vegetables. 🍏
In short, the perfect place to dine, that fairy tales are a reality.

№ 4

Rock Monastery "St. Nicholas - Gligora"

The rock monastery "St. Nicholas" is an architectural treasure hidden between the dense vegetation and the river Iskar. 🌳

As soon as you enter, a wide space is revealed with a tree growing in nothingness, painted icons on the rocks and a high-hanging bell, which you can try for yourself. 🔔
For the more adventurous there are also unstable stairs that lead to the highest part, from where a panoramic view is revealed. 🥰

Joker: If you decide to walk here in a season when mosquitoes are hunting, you better drive all the dirt road to the monastery. Otherwise, you will certainly get on the grid and develop tics in an attempt to get the insects out of your ears. Yes, those out there like to play you up close. 🎻

№ 5

Rock maze "Peshketo" near the village of Lilyache

This is a passage cave hidden by stone doors.
🪐 I had the feeling that I was entering a new world, like in most children's homes with hidden dinosaur homes. That is why it is also called the Bulgarian Jurassic Park. The large bones and skulls of animals, which you can see along one of the entrances, also have merit.
📍 To get to it you can follow the location in Google. It is located 15 km. from Vratsa. If it doesn't rain, it will work for you, as it will take you to a meadow with a gazebo, where you can park and cross the river on a small bridge.

Here were the 5 great little known locations that impressed us terribly and we can't wait to visit them. And don't forget to follow the great Maria on Instagram / @ mariq.t /, for more incredible adventures in all parts of beautiful Bulgaria!
