Home and family
were inviolable and sacred to Bulgarian. There he was born, grew up, enjoyed life and faced hardships and adversities together. The patriarchal family existed as a form until mid-century c the villages. Its degradation begins with the collectivization of land. The father of the family was the mainstay of the house and his word was law. In some families, it happened that the woman was the stronger, leading person. But she did not impose her will directly, but through her husband - this is how he was preserved authority of the head of the family before his children and society.

The family members lived together. With his domestication the daughters left the father's house. The sons (if there were more than one) remained in the father's house after marriage. The wealthier peasants separated their older sons in independent a house. The youngest son stayed with his mother and father.

The houses were small, usually one story, built of adobe. After the 20th year, wealthy peasants began to build large, two-story houses with loggia, modeled on townhouses. And today in many villages there are several houses preserved from those years that have not lost theirs charm.
