Strandzha mountain is the least explored by tourism in our country. However, Strandzha is mystical, natural and casual. This part of Bulgaria preserves the true spirit and unadulterated beauty in its peaceful green hills. Let's see which are the places worth visiting…

1. Malko Tarnovo

Only about 10 km from our border with Turkey, there is a provincial town that has preserved the charm of its greenery, clean air and tranquility. The 4 mini-museums united by the so-called Municipal Museum have exhibits arranged in 4 old houses. The houses are located in the center of the town and show the typical Strandzha architecture. In the Church of the Assumption, you will be delighted with a huge number of different icons. And besides, there is also a Catholic church built, which bears the name "Holy Trinity". The locals are extremely nice and kind people, which guarantees you more than a nice stay.

2. "Dokuzak" waterfall

This is actually the largest waterfall on the territory of Strandzha. The waterfall is easily accessible and is located 7km from the aforementioned town. Dokuzak is captivatingly beautiful and exceptionally full of water all year round, even on the hottest summer days. And the shady grove that surrounds it will provide you with the necessary coolness. An interesting fact is that water contains negative ions that have a positive effect on the human body. Splashes of its clear water will allow you to inhale those ions, which is a plus. Walk around this gift of nature, and when you get tired, take a rest at one of the designated barbecues in the area.

3. Brashlyan village

IN village Ivy you are too likely to smell ivy! Here there is no trace of built-up areas, concrete, billboards, stalls, because here time seems to have stopped. Ivy carries that authentic spirit that is bread for the heart and soul nowadays. The old houses and the gardens, rich in flowers, grab the human eye immediately. People who find themselves here for the first time should definitely check out the cell school, the ethnographic house and the church. And perhaps the biggest plus is that the picturesque village is located close to most landmarks on the territory of the most inscrutable mountain in our country.

4. The Holy Trinity Chapel

The spiritual character of Strandzha is expressed by the abundance of chapels and holy places. Between the villages of Gramatikovo and Vizitsa, or 30 km from Malko Tarnovo, there is another wonderful place, shrouded in mysteries and legends. The mysterious "Holy Trinity" chapel was built on cave, which historians claim was used as a Thracian sanctuary. Water flows down the cave walls. This water is believed to have a medicinal and healing purpose, and there used to be an icon at the bottom. The nature around the site is in sync with history, because about 500 century-old oak trees rise above the site.

5. "Castle" peak

This peak is the place that offers the best view of the ridge of Strandzha. The springs of the Mladezhka River are also in the immediate vicinity. The places are untouched by time and it is as if no human foot has set foot there. Access to the unreal beauty is provided by interesting wooden bridges. The waters of the river are literally and figuratively crystal clear, and according to some they help with sore nerves and rheumatism. Complete your tour of the mysterious mountain from this peak!
