In this article, we introduce you to 5 remarkable monuments in Bulgaria that everyone should see. Here they are:

1. The monument "Grandfather Jotso is watching"

We find ourselves again in the Iskar gorge, which we have mentioned more than once. If we exclude the picturesqueness of the gorge and its proximity to the famous Skaklya waterfall and the Vazov eco-trail, some eyes tower over the entire road. The monument is located on the gorge that forms the river Iskar. The beautiful sculpture embodies the Vase character from the story "Grandfather Jotso is Watching". As if perched above the gorge, Grandpa Yotso manages to see the future of his homeland, albeit blind. Vazov's hero symbolizes the light in the human soul, and more specifically the aspiration "To see a free Bulgaria".

4. The Freedom Monument

It goes without saying that Shipka is one of the must-see monuments that everyone should visit at least once! Situated in Stara Planina, and not far from the old capital Tarnovo, the monument immortalizes the feat of those who fell in battle for the freedom of the homeland. Shipka aims to glorify the deeds of all those Bulgarian militiamen and Russian soldiers who lost their lives during the battles of Mount Shipka in 1877. The blood that was spilled in this place made the path to immortality more direct for all those heroes. Whatever can be written about Shipka, it will be insufficient!
