The name of the cave comes precisely from its type - a female genital organ. Originally, the rock cleft was much smaller and narrow. However, with the intervention of human hands, its depth gradually increased from 16m to 22m. At the bottom of the cave, our ancestors carved a womb-like altar. They say that every year on the day of the spring solstice, a sunbeam passes through the entrance of the cave, reaches the bottom and "fertilizes the vulva".
The cave is located 23 km from Kardzhali, on the road to the village of Nenkovo. Passing the Borovitsa Hotel, located on the shore of dam Kardzhali, a little after it on the right there is a sign and a path. The journey to the cave takes about an hour and a bit. I advise you to prepare with comfortable shoes, water and eyes wide open for beautiful views.
