The city of Dobrich is located in Northeastern Bulgaria, very close to Our northern Black Sea. The population of the city is about 80 thousand inhabitants. Dobruja is that region of Bulgaria where the sun always shines, the sunflowers are always "smiling", and the wheat there produces the most delicious bread, and Dobrich is precisely the heart of this golden place! Let's see which places are worth visiting while walking around…
1. Ethnographic Museum "Old Dobrich"
It is an open-air museum that offers to see some of the good old crafts, customs and traditions. There is also a Renaissance school on display at the site, which will take you back two centuries in the education and culture of Bulgaria. Often, the ethnographic museum becomes a scene of folklore and theatrical performances, demonstrations of complex but interesting crafts characteristic of this part of the country. In this architectural-ethnographic museum, you can become a part of pottery, blacksmithing, weaving, barrel making and many other activities carried out in the special workshops.

2. Art gallery
The Art Gallery of the city of Dobrich is home to over 3,000 masterpieces of fine art. The works of some of the most famous Bulgarian artists, such as Vladimir Dimitrov – Master, Mrkvichka, Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, etc., are stored here. The gallery has all kinds of art – painting, graphics, sculptures, even decorative graphics. Very often, exhibitions from all over Europe are organized here - France, Spain, Poland, etc.

3. Yordan Yovkov's home
Dobrich is the hometown of the famous Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov. Yovkov is known for his work, in which the main ideas are hope, love and faith. Yordan Yovkov is an optimistic writer, a writer who has tremendous faith and conveys this to his readers unconditionally. The Yovkov Memorial House preserves personal items of this great Bulgarian talent, while at the same time revealing the modest Bulgarian conditions in which he worked in his everyday life.
4. Center for the protection of nature and animals
Not many people know about the existence of this center, but in fact it is the only one of its kind not only in Bulgaria, but also in Eastern Europe. Over 350 animals live here, which have a wide space, as close as possible to their natural habitat. The zoo is different in its lack of concrete walls, large fences and steel cages. Complete with exotic vegetation, this Zoo will make you feel the atmosphere of a wild oasis!

5. Saint George City Park
The city park "St. George" is the place for people to relax in Dobrich. Six ash trees greet visitors at the entrance today, all six of which have been declared protected, and even more interesting is the fact that they have been around since the site was created in the 19th century. Here you will come across man-made poisons and shoals on which water lines and other marsh vegetation can be seen. And for sports lovers, there are places adapted both for sports running and cycling routes for cyclists. The look of this fairytale place is modeled after a fairy tale!
There are many more places in Dobrich that are worth stepping on! The surrounding area is no less rich, so if you are nearby we advise you to take a walk to Cape Shabla, where the oldest Bulgarian lighthouse is located, the botanical garden in Balchik, which is the only one of its kind, or Cape Kaliakra, which in our opinion is one of the most unique places in Bulgaria!
