In this text, we will focus on two unique regions - Kardzhali and Kyustendil, where we will reveal five of their most significant national tourist sites. From ancient Thracian cities to monastery complexes and museums, these sites will provide visitors with an unforgettable journey through Bulgaria&#039;s rich and diverse culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\n<h3><b>Monastery complex &quot;St. John the Forerunner&quot; - Kardzhali<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the banks of the Arda River, in the town of Kardjali, there is a unique monastery complex - &quot;St. John the Forerunner\u201d. It is one of the most famous monastery complexes in Bulgaria, known for its rich history and religious significance. Built in the 6th century, as a continuation of a famous necropolis, it was then abandoned. This ancient Thracian city has its place among the most significant archaeological finds in Bulgaria. Perperikon has been inhabited since ancient times and has a complex system of fortresses, urban infrastructure and sanctuaries that were part of Thracian life. The museum has a rich collection of archaeological artefacts, finds and exhibits that date from antiquity to the modern period. The city also houses the art gallery dedicated to his life and work. The gallery offers a rich collection of paintings, drawings and sculptures by the Master himself and other famous Bulgarian artists.
