Botevgrad is part of the Sofia region and one of the cities that doesn't seem to be talked about enough. The city is more than suitable for a weekend tourism, during which you will be able to visit both traditional tourist sites and not so much in the area. Let's see which are the 5 places that are worth your time\u2026<\/p>\n

1. The clock tower<\/h3>\n

This is perhaps the biggest emblem of the city and the thing by which you will certainly distinguish Botevgrad, because this tower is the tallest clock tower in Bulgaria. The site is included in the list of the 100 national tourist sites in our country. The 30-meter tower impresses with rare baroque elements and particularly impressive frescoes. Built as early as 1866, the tower has retained its function \u2013 namely the working clock!<\/p>\n

2. Monument to Hristo Botev<\/h3>\n

No matter how clich\u00e9d it sounds, in order to have a future you need to know your history well, and what could be better than taking your children to the monument of one of the icons in Bulgarian history and charging yourself with a dose of revolutionary spirit? Hristo Botev, our poet, revolutionary and national hero, is a shrine. The city bears the names Samundjievo and Orhanie, until in 1934 it was renamed in honor of the hero who shed his blood for the homeland.<\/p>\n
