There are many unique places in Bulgaria. Our homeland is rich in many and most diverse natural resources landmarks<\/a>. Stories are told about many of the places and legends<\/a>. It is unique how the ordinary natural elements - wind, water and sun have created masterpieces that have been scattered over the Bulgarian lands for centuries. Here are the five unique natural phenomena in Bulgaria that everyone should visit...<\/p>\n

1. Belogradchik rocks<\/h4>\n

This is the place that tops our ranking. The Belogradchik rocks are famous not only among us Bulgarians, but also abroad. The place is a rocky object with a length of about 30km. The rock formations are divided into several groups, the first of which includes the so-called The Horseman, The Madonna, The Dervish, Adam and Eve, The Mushrooms, The Lion, The Monks, The Bear, The Castle and The Shepherd. This landmark enables the imagination of the human eye, as each of the visitors likens the rocks to a variety of animal or human forms.<\/p>\n

Did you know that\u2026<\/b> 230 million years ago, the Belogradchik rocks were the bottom of the sea. After the withdrawal of water, the soft limestones are folded. Under the influence of the air, the sun and the natural elements, they take bizarre forms that still excite the human imagination to this day.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. The seven Rila lakes<\/h4>\n

Rila<\/a> lakes are no exception to the trend, and legends are told about them. The most common version is that the place was inhabited by male and female giants who enjoyed a harmonious life. At one point, the woman lost her lover, and the tears caused by the grief of losing her loved one managed to create these uniquely beautiful lakes. There is also something symbolic about their number, because 7 is a well-known sacred number. Small streams connect the so-called lakes - Salzata, Okoto, Babreka\u00b8 Bliznaka, Trelistnika, Ribnoto and Dolnoto. The beauty from the top is stunning!<\/p>\n
