Hello friends! My name is Vessela Hristova, storyteller and travel blogger. I have been looking for travel and adventure in my life since early childhood. These are the activities that charge me the most, that lead me forward, and really help me to balance in my otherwise active city life. I feel most real and alive when I'm on the road, always in nature. I passionately love the mountains of Bulgaria, but I am no less attracted by the sea and the freedom it brings us in the summer. In recent years, I have rediscovered Bulgaria and I really "feel" it.

It is a pleasure for me to tell stories about the places I discover, to refract them through my prism, to make everyone empathize with the emotion with me, to show Bulgaria as I feel it. Mysterious with all its hidden treasures, boundless with its beauty and diversity, rich in history and nature… I am proud of all this and it is a real pleasure for me to travel, discover, adventure, capture and share to empathize and dream together!

In this article, Vesela will walk us through three mountains, rivers, sea and forests, seen through her eyes…

National Park Pirin is probably the most adventurous and exciting for visiting national park in Bulgaria. It offers many tourist routes with different levels of difficulty! Pirin Mountain, with its alpine landscapes filled with peaks and lakes, offers some of the best hiking and climbing trails in Europe. Pirin has acquired an alpine relief - rocky marble or granite peaks and rocks, deep circuses, well-formed glacial valleys and numerous lakes. The beautiful and large massif of this beautiful mountain is home to very high peaks. Of all about 50 peaks are over 2500 m, 3 peaks are over 2900 m, 7 peaks are over 2800 m and 14 peaks are over 2700 m. Many hiking trails start from Vihren hut. Northern Pirin is home to the highest peak - Vihren (2914 m).

The Rhodopes

We can't miss it The Rhodopes - the mountain with a soul. From the Rhodopes there are many natural and architectural sites, picturesque villages, breathtaking views, stunning rock formations and many hiking and biking trails. The first stop on our journey through several unique landmarks in the Rhodopes is the "Womb". Utrobata Cave is a Thracian sanctuary in southern Bulgaria, located in a rocky area near the village of Nenkovo, Kardzhali region.

The cave The "womb" dates back to Thracian times and is a natural horizontal cleft in the rock, resembling a woman's womb. Water is constantly flowing along the walls of the cave. An altar is carved at the southern inner end of the cave. The light projection at the entrance moves along the walls and ground of the cave and is synchronized with the movement of the Sun. This movement reaches its maximum at noon, reaching the entire length of the cave along its central axis to an artificial altar resembling a woman's womb.
